The Best Nights
Don't Happen
by Accident.

Someone has to build the world, run the story, and make sure everyone at the table gets their moment. That's the job. I've been doing it for twenty years.

I Don't Run Games.
I Build Experiences.

Every campaign I run is built from scratch. Every city has a name, a history, and something worth fighting for. Every NPC has a reason to be there beyond handing you a quest. I've been doing this for two decades and the approach has never changed: the world breathes first. Then we let you loose in it.

The World Custom-built. Every city, faction, and forgotten ruin placed with intent.
The NPCs A voice, a want, a history. They remember what you did last session.
Your Moment I build one for each player, every session. It lands because it was made for you.
The Table A place where the fiction is shared and the growth is real.

d20 What Happens at My Table ×6

Roll for Encounter.

You're not booking a session. You're rolling on this table. Every seat gets a result. This is what that looks like.

d20 Result What Actually Happens
1–3 The MomentThat scene was built for your character. You didn't know. I did. That backstory detail you wrote six sessions ago? It's here. It matters. You'll remember this one.
4–7 The NPC Who StaysYou were supposed to interrogate him and move on. Nobody wants to leave. He has opinions about what you did last week. He's going to become important.
8–11 The LaughSomething goes sideways in the best possible way. Nobody planned it. The table loses it. It becomes the story you tell people to explain what TTRPG even is.
12–14 The Quiet OneThe new player hasn't said much. They're nervous. I open a door specifically for them. They walk through it. By the end of the session they're leading the party.
15–17 The Slow DownThe session was supposed to be combat-heavy. I read the room. Someone needed the story to breathe. It does. Nobody notices the pivot. That's the job.
18–20 The Thing You Didn't See ComingYou thought you knew where this was going. You didn't. I've been building toward this for three sessions. The look on your face is why I do this.

Great DM!!! Been mine for 5 years now. A very patience DM lol but now I know my shit.
Tabletop Phoenix is a fantastic GM who really shines in the areas of world-building and character creation. He is very patient with new players and always willing to lend a hand to help with character creation, backgrounds, and development. He puts so much care into his worlds and stories and it really makes for an immersive experience for his players!
Had a really great time with Tabletop Phoenix as a GM. As others have said he is a great and patient GM! I played a one-shot, it felt smooth and really let the players guide the story.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the effort Tabletop Phoenix puts into all of his characters. He does the voices, the special effects sounds, he BECOMES the NPCs and it makes it much easier to get immersed. He makes sure every player gets a moment to shine—something not all DMs/GMs do and he is a very kind, laid back person. I recommend him a thousand percent!
Tabletop Phoenix is a phenomenal DM. He has shown incredible patience whilst working with newer players and allows a players creativity to shine, whilst being fair and reasonable in his judgment calls. Though I have only played a few session with him I can say that he is a incredible world builder and character designer. All around he cultivates a very friendly and professional space giving the players the ultimate freedom.
You know i've played with phoenix for few years now and as someone who came in knowing a bit my world opened up when playing with Phoenix. The way he tells the story and guides the narrative you never truly know what will happen next. I was just in a campaign 2 hours ago and I made a character decision he didn't expect and he went with it and made it work. He is one of the most caring, flexible and patient people and I'm so glad I get to play his campaigns and be able to learn and grow from them as a person in the real world.
Truly a master of the craft when it comes to world building and storytelling, whether it’s the NPCs you meet along your journey or the foes you fight, to even helping out with your own character’s development so he can implement the story you want to write for yourself. He really has a way to bring the scenarios to life. He sets the stage with music, voices the variety of characters he creates, has visuals for the NPCs and combat maps, not to mention his quick thinking when someone throws the campaign off course! I’ve only been a player for him for a year, but I always look forward to seeing the message that he has a day available for a session, because it means that’s a day with many hours spent immersed in the world, laughing at choices you or your teammates make. If you like getting lost in the world of fantasy that is DND, Phoenix is one for the books!
Tabletop Phoenix is a game master who builds deep, rich worlds and puts players front and center to be the movers and shakers within them. He cares deeply about his craft, his players, and the stories told together, and is very good at listening to and incorporating feedback along the way. If you want to tell an epic story, be delightfully surprised by big GM moves, and put thought and growth behind your character's journey, Phoenix is absolutely the GM for you.
